In the 90’s, Sanford and Lena started performing as a duo, playing Sanford’s original songs and as well as crowd pleasing covers. Anchored by siblings, Sanford and Lena Markley, the four and sometimes five-member band called themselves Brandywine and for 20 years they played to enthusiastic audiences as their popularity grew in the DC area. In the mid 1970s, a group of local high school students began singing together. ![]()
